Kashmir produces several forms of embroidery. Sozni is the finest — worked with a single needle used in delicate fabric like pashmina . Aari embroidery uses a hook and is faster but heavier. Dry cleaning is always the safest option and what we recommend for embroidered pieces. If you prefer to hand wash, use cold water with a very small amount of baby shampoo or mild wool wash — never rub, only gently press. Roll in a clean towel to remove excess water, then lay flat to dry away from direct heat or sunlight. Never wring, tumble dry, or hang wet. Store folded in a breathable cotton bag away from direct light.
