Our Natural cashmere scarf celebrates the timeless beauty of soft, undyed fibres, handwoven with meticulous care in Srinagar from 100% pure Changthangi cashmere. Its neutral, earthy tone makes it a versatile wardrobe essential, effortlessly complementing every outfit. Luxuriously soft yet lightweight, this scarf offers natural warmth and comfort, making it ideal for year-round wear while adding a subtle, refined elegance to any look.
The fibres for this exquisite scarf come from the undercoat of the rare Changthangi goats, raised on the high-altitude plateaus of Ladakh. These fibres measure just 14–16 microns, providing exceptional softness, resilience, and insulation. This ensures that each scarf is not only beautiful but also durable, maintaining the authentic quality of traditional Kashmir pashmina craftsmanship that has been revered for centuries.
Every Natural cashmere scarf is handwoven by expert Kashmiri artisans on traditional handlooms, a labor-intensive process that can take several days to complete. The neutral tone highlights the intricate weaving patterns and subtle texture variations, making each piece unique. Its understated elegance allows it to pair effortlessly with formal attire, casual layering, or even as a statement accessory over vibrant hues, offering unmatched versatility in styling.

Why Kashmir Cashmere is in a Class of Its Own
Not all cashmere is equal. The finest in the world comes from the Changthangi goat — a breed native to the high-altitude plateau of Ladakh, where winter temperatures drop to −40°C and the animals develop an exceptionally fine, warm undercoat to survive. It is this undercoat, hand-combed each spring, that becomes Kashmir cashmere.
The average diameter of a Kashmir cashmere fibre is 14–16 microns — half the width of the finest Mongolian cashmere sold in most luxury brands. That fineness is what makes a Pure Kashmir scarf feel soft against bare skin, light enough to fold into a coat pocket, and warm enough to wear in a New York winter.
Every scarf is woven on a traditional handloom by a single weaver in Srinagar, then individually dyed using azo-free dyes.

This is 100% genuine Changthangi cashmere from Kashmir — not a blended pashmina, not viscose, not acrylic. The fibre is hand-combed from Changthangi goats raised at altitude on the Ladakhi plateau and woven into cloth in Srinagar by master weavers. Every scarf ships with a certificate of authenticity.
Three sizes: Stole (70 × 200 cm / 27 × 79 in, ~100g) — a classic lightweight neck scarf. Shawl (100 × 200 cm / 40 × 79 in, ~180g) — our most popular size, ideal as a travel wrap or shoulder shawl. Large Square (137 × 137 cm / 54 × 54 in, ~180g) — the most versatile for wrapping and draping. All sizes are available in over 50 hand-dyed colours.
Dry cleaning is the safest option. If you hand wash, use cold water with a small amount of baby shampoo or mild wool wash — never rub, only gently press and squeeze. Roll in a clean towel to remove excess water, then lay flat to dry away from direct heat or sunlight. Never wring, tumble dry, or hang wet. Store folded in a breathable cotton bag. With proper care, a cashmere scarf softens with every wash and lasts decades.
Some light pilling in the first few wears is normal for all natural cashmere — it is a sign of genuine fibre, not poor quality. Loose fibres that have not yet integrated into the weave work their way to the surface with use and washing. Simply remove pills with a cashmere comb or fabric shaver. After the first few wears, pilling stops and the fabric becomes smoother and softer.
Kashmir cashmere is approximately 8 times warmer than sheep's wool by weight due to the insulating hollow-core structure of each fibre. A 100g Stole provides noticeably more warmth than a wool scarf twice its weight. This makes it ideal for cold US winters — light enough to wear indoors, warm enough to use as your only scarf outside in temperatures above about 20°F.
Yes, for most people. Kashmir cashmere at 14–16 microns is fine enough not to trigger the itch response that coarser wools cause (which begins at around 30 microns). Our scarves are dyed with azo-free dyes, reducing chemical irritants. If you have a diagnosed wool allergy (lanolin sensitivity), cashmere is a different protein and many people with wool sensitivity wear cashmere comfortably — though individual reactions vary.

Handwoven in Kashmir. Worn Across the World.
This natural cashmere scarf – handwoven 100% pure pashmina is a genuine pure cashmere scarf, hand-woven on traditional handlooms in Srinagar, Kashmir — the city that has produced the world's finest cashmere cloth for over five centuries. Customers in the United States, Australia, Canada and UK searching for an authentic cashmere scarf, luxury pashmina wrap, or a pure cashmere shawl will find in every Pure Kashmir piece a combination of heritage craft and verified quality that department-store cashmere cannot match.
Our fibre comes from Changthangi goats raised at altitude on the Ladakhi plateau — the source of the world's finest cashmere at 14–16 microns diameter. Unlike blended "pashmina" scarves or mass-produced cashmere that blends Chinese and Mongolian fibres, every Pure Kashmir scarf is 100% single-origin Changthangi cashmere, individually woven, individually dyed with azo-free dyes, and verified by independent textile testing laboratories.
Available in three sizes and over 50 hand-dyed colours, this is one of the most gifted luxury items we sell — particularly popular as a cashmere scarf gift for Christmas, Mother's Day, and birthdays.
