Making Of A Kashmiri Carpet

Carpet Making in Kashmir is famous through out the globe. This art was brought to Kashmir in the late 15th century by the Emperor Badshah. He brought artisans from Persia to teach the craft of carpet weaving in Kashmir.
The making of a Kashmiri carpet is a pure work of art and the quality depends on the number of knots per square inch. The highest quality of carpet is made from silk threads and has about 600-900 knots per square inch.
